SHOWING “LOVE” FOR SECRETARIAT AT THE MEADOW
We recently unveiled our new LOVEwork sign at The Meadow, as part of the “Virginia Is For Lovers” tourism campaign. Each letter was made of authentic Meadow fence posts or boards and painted in the stable’s famous blue and white colors. The LOVEwork was designed and constructed by Meadow staff and placed near the historic barns of Secretariat’s birthplace, which is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the Virginia Landmarks Register. Secretariat grandson Covert Action was on hand for the festivities, courtesy of the local Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation.
We also had the formal unveiling of the official plaque listing Secretariat’s birthplace on the National Register of Historic Places and Virginia Landmarks Register. Covert Action helped with that too!
MARK YOUR CALENDAR FOR THE STATE FAIR OF VIRGINIA AT THE MEADOW SEPT 25-0CT 4
